A month after Russia invaded Ukraine, Jerebko signed for Russian giants CSKA Moscow.

The 35-year-old remained at the Russian club for the rest of the season and received harsh criticism for the club choice, which led, among other things, to his suspension from the Swedish national team.

Yesterday he appeared in Luleå to deliver the match ball in the meeting against Norrköping.

- It was a pancake, but not the kind freshly baked on Thursday with jam and cream, but you know that first pancake that looks like torn underpants.

"Jerebko must apologize"

Do you think he will be able to play in the Swedish national team again?

- Something Jonas Jerebko does not seem to understand is that in order to become part of Swedish basketball, he must first of all apologize, distance himself from his decision and explain why he is distancing himself so that people can understand that he really means it.

Only then will the slow process begin, says Rajacic and elaborates the reasoning:

- Before he does that, he will not be able to play or be in Swedish basketball halls without it causing reactions.

It's ok to judge the decision he made, it's only human.

But the fact that he as a person is called jammy and all that, even I find it difficult.

Why don't you think he did?

- That's a very good question, but I think it's about pride and that he himself doesn't think you should mix sports and politics.

The Swedish Basketball Association's general secretary Fredrik Joulamo about the situation:

- In order to come back and become an active part of our movement, at least as far as the national team organization is concerned, a dialogue will be required.

And I feel that that dialogue should be initiated by the person who wants to enter the movement.

We are not an organization that should brand anyone, any more than we brand BC Luleå or Lasse Mosesson for what happened yesterday, he tells TT.
