Biathlon star Sebastian Samuelsson had a very strong season last winter where he came third in the overall World Cup.

"Has a trump card in hand"

This summer, Samuelsson has broken several personal records, and SVT's expert believes that the 25-year-old can challenge for the overall victory this year.

- It is quite possible, because he has all the parts required for it.

He is a man to win the overall World Cup and the roller belt he bought is a trump card that can make a big difference to the margins.

I know he has been training well with the band for several months, and it is difficult for competitors to copy that set-up, says Björn Ferry.

How do the Swedish men's chances look in general?

- Of course I want to mention Martin Ponsiluoma, but I don't believe in him as much as I do in Samuelsson.

He has shown what a fantastic top level he possesses, but unfortunately does not have an even level in shooting.

Which international superstars do you keep an extra eye on?

- Quentin Fillon Maillet actually looked quite pale during the Swedish premiere in Idre, but the charm of biathlon is that the form can change significantly just in time for the VC premiere.

I will mainly have my eyes on the French and Norwegian teams and it will be so exciting to see the battle between them this winter.

The Bø brothers will give Fillon Maillet a real match.

Who will be victorious in the VC premiere?

- I'm guessing Johannes Thingnes Bö.

He seems to be fit and healthy, went fast in the Norwegian premiere and is always a winner candidate.

The Biathlon World Cup begins on Tuesday with the men's sprint at 1 p.m. on SVT1/Play.
