On Saturday, the France team validated its ticket for the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar after its victory against Denmark (2-1).

A result acquired thanks to a double from Kylian Mbappé, but also to the performance in the midfield of Antoine Griezmann, which Wendie Renard, French international, deciphers for Europe 1.

The French team, reigning world champions, has already qualified for the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup thanks to its victory on Saturday against Denmark (2-1).

A performance that the Blues owe in large part to Kylian Mbappé, author of the two French goals, but also to Antoine Griezmann, whose role proves to be invaluable in the collective game of the Tricolores.

"Since the start of the season, he has been confident," says Wendie Renard, French international and consultant for Europe 1, about number 7 of the Blues.

"He knows how to orient, he plays simple"

"It's true that in recent years, it's been a bit difficult for him," continues the Olympique Lyonnais footballer, referring to the rather complicated last seasons for the 2018 world champion. However, it's a player greatly appreciated by the captain of the French women's team.

"He smells like football," she says.

"We saw him during the last meeting (against Denmark), he knows how to orient, he plays simple. He saw before receiving, and it's important at a very high level to see ahead to always have time to advance on the adversary.

For Wendie Renard, Antoine Griezmann is also "a player who, defensively, makes a lot of effort".

"He's smart, he manages to cut the opponent's passing lines. And we saw him, he tackled, he recovered, he directed: it's Griezmann in fact", continues the Europe consultant 1 about the Atlético de Madrid striker.

And the tricolor international to conclude: "With his technical quality, we will need him to take the Blues as far as possible."
