The former international football referee, Abdullah Al-Ajel, confirmed that the Emirati arbitration team, led by Mohammed Abdullah Hassan, managed the Serbia-Cameroon match that was held yesterday, and ended in a 3-3 draw in the second round for Group G in the World Cup (Qatar 2022) in a distinctive manner without affecting mistakes. Pointing out that Muhammad Abdullah was distinguished in managing the elected players more than in applying the law, in order to reduce their repeated objections, which made it easier for him to manage the match in a distinctive way.

The Emirati arbitration crew, who also led the match, included the assistant referees, Mohamed Ahmed Al Hammadi and Hassan Al Mahri.

The referee, Muhammad Abdullah Hassan, showed four yellow cards during the match, with two cards for each team, while the match was devoid of red cards.

Abdullah Al-Ajel told Emirates Al-Youm: "The match was devoid of any arbitration errors, and the six goals in the match were correct, despite the controversy that arose about Cameroon's canceled goal on the grounds of offside before the video referee (the mouse) declared it correct."

Al-Ajel added: “It caught my eye that the referee, Muhammad Abdullah Hassan, was firm in the matter of his management of the players, as he stopped playing more than once to prevent the players from objecting to his decisions, especially in the first half, which witnessed the scoring of three goals, including two goals for Serbia and a goal for Cameroon, when the goals came All three from set pieces.

And he continued: «With regard to the second goal of the Cameroon national team, which was canceled by the first assistant referee, Muhammad Al-Hammadi, on the grounds of offside, before the video referee (the mouse) intervened and counted it as a correct goal, it is considered one of the difficult arbitration cases, and this particular case cannot be seen with the naked eye.

And he continued: “The two assistant referees, Muhammad Al-Hammadi and Hassan Al-Mahri, distinguished themselves in accurately calculating the cases of infiltration, which amounted to about five cases, and helped the arena referee, Muhammad Abdullah Hassan, in managing the match in a distinguished manner.”

Al-Ajel pointed out that Mohamed Abdullah Hassan, during his management of two matches so far in the World Cup (Qatar 2022), showed his strong personality, and he came out with the two matches to safety.

Arbitration experts expect that the UAE arbitration team will be assigned to manage other matches in the advanced roles, compared to the level with which it appeared during its management of the previous two matches.
