After the serious car accident in 2021, Tiger Woods made a comeback in April this year, when he finished 47th in the US Masters.

But since then there have been just three other events for him, with the British Open in July being the latest.

Since then, there has not been a single competition.

Injured in the right foot

But this week the idea was for him to compete again, in his self-organized invitational Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

But it won't be like that.

On Monday night, he announced via his Twitter account that he has developed plantar fasciitis in his right foot, which is making it difficult for him to walk.

"After consulting with my doctors and trainers, I have decided to sit out the competition, and focus on my duties as an organizer," writes Woods.

Aiming for competition next week

Plantar asciitis is the precursor to heel spurs.

However, Woods writes that he still aims to play the two competitions that will be played in the next two weeks, "The Match" and "PNC Championship".
