A unique competition was held in Hita City, Oita Prefecture, combining trail running on mountain roads with a competition to cut logs of Hita cedar, a local product.

This tournament is held by Hita City, which has a thriving forestry industry, to make people familiar with the forest. people participated.

In the park at the venue, an approximately 3-kilometer course for "trail running" has been set up, and there is an Ekiden division where teams of four run one lap, a division where one person runs four laps, and elementary school students who run only one lap. 3 of the departments were done.

There were still autumn leaves in some parts of the park, and the players stepped on the fallen leaves as they challenged the course with ups and downs.

A feature of the tournament is that after completing one lap of the course, a log of local Hita cedar about 10 centimeters in diameter is sawed off. I was struggling with log cutting.

Participants commented, "After using the power of the legs, using the strength of the arms is incredibly tough," and "Combining log cutting with trail running seemed like an interesting attraction, so it was a lot of fun." And so on.
