The praise was not long in coming.

“The boys are in outstanding condition.

The ones who had the most stress were the fittest.” Oliver Glasner was in the best of spirits when he went to the training ground with his team in Frankfurt for the first time in a long time.

For the Eintracht coach and his professionals, it was the first time since returning from the marketing trip to Japan.

The intensive session on Monday was preceded by a number of performance tests in the days before, all of which Glasner was extremely satisfied with.

"I'm very satisfied," said the Austrian football coach.

17 outfield players and three goalkeepers were there at the beginning of the week when Glasner gave commands in German and English and always found positive words.

"Super played, bravo, bravo." One from the Eintracht ensemble could particularly recommend: Aurélio Buta.

Due to injury, the defender, who switched from Antwerp to Eintracht in the summer, has not yet been used this season.

There was a first work sample in Japan - and now in Frankfurt the confirmation that the 25-year-old defensive player can definitely be counted on.

The Angolan-born right-back, who also has Portuguese citizenship, even scored three goals.

"It was his best training ever," said Glasner.

The Eintracht coach wants to focus on two things in the next two weeks until the start of the holiday on December 10th: "Defensive behavior and standards." Glasner was very pleased that he was taking breaks from his team's first serious training session in two months could give tips.

“Here in training I can intervene and stop.

You can't do that in the game."

Eintracht will play two friendlies this year.

On December 2nd, the second division club SV Sandhausen will be present at the training area at the Frankfurt Arena.

A week later, on December 9th, they will go to Italy, where the Christmas vacation will begin immediately after the final whistle of the encounter with Atalanta Bergamo.

In both tests, Glasner wants to offer professionals a lot of playing time, who have been neglected in competitive matches with tests in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.

Telephone calls with Trapp and Götze

He singled out Lucas Alario and Rafael Borré, two from his stormy department in which Randal Kolo Muani has made himself indispensable.

Like six other Eintracht pros, Muani is in action at the World Cup in Qatar.

"I just got off the phone with Kevin Trapp and Mario Götze," reported Glasner.

An early return to Frankfurt was not a topic of discussion.

"I told them to at least make it to the quarterfinals."

Glasner also confirmed "that I am planning for the second half of the season with all the players who are with us.

There will be no major upheaval in the winter.” The Frankfurt coach has not yet given any thought to the forthcoming transfer window.

"Now it's the World Cup, now there's no transfer market.

We don't want to and won't give up any regular players.” Glasner left a small back door open.

"Unless an immoral offer comes along."
