The Portugal defender suffered a three-rib fracture

Portugal defender Danilo Pereira fractured three ribs in his country's training and will miss the remaining two matches in the group stage in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, according to sources close to the national team today.

Danilo, who played the full minutes of the first match against Ghana (3-2) Thursday, was injured due to the absence of the injured defense pole, Pepe, during training yesterday.

The Portuguese Federation of the game stated that, "The examinations revealed a fracture in three ribs on the right side. He will be absent from the ranks of the national team."

The 31-year-old Paris Saint-Germain defender (64 international matches, two goals) will miss the Uruguay match on Monday in the second round, where Portugal has the opportunity to qualify for the final price if it wins, and then against South Korea next Friday.

The same source added that Danilo will undergo additional examinations, which will determine whether he is able to play again if Portugal qualifies for the second round.

On the other hand, his colleague in the Parisian club, Nuno Mendes, missed training on Saturday, as he continued his treatment, similar to the previous days, due to muscle fatigue, as is the case of midfielder Otavio, who played mainly against Ghana.
