They both stood in the finish line waiting for Killington's queen, Mikaela Shiffrini, who led after the first run and has won all five slalom events decided in the American alpine resort.

Shiffrin made it to the first split but then gradually lost ground in the run-up course and finished fifth in front of the home fans.

Anna Swenn-Larsson took the lead when she reached the finish, despite a stop before the steep.

She looked surprised at the finish line.

Around four tenths were lost on the treacherous patch of ice.

Wendy Holdener finished in the same time

Austria's Franziska Gritsch was 30th after the first heat, the last to advance, but had a full hit in the second and was not passed until tenth in the first heat, Norway's Maria Therese Tviberg was able to pin down Gritsch, who finished xx after a long time in the leadership chair.
