Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou left the starting line-up for the “Atlas Lions” moments before the start of his match against his Belgian counterpart at Al-Thumama Stadium today, Sunday, in the second round of Group E of the group stage of the 2022 World Cup.

Bono was present in the starting line-up and warmed up normally, and stood beside his teammates during the playing of the national anthem, before he went to coach Walid Regragui asking for his replacement.

According to Moroccan sources, Yassin Bono was dizzy before the start of the match, and assured his coach that he could not play, so he was immediately replaced by his colleague, goalkeeper of the Saudi Al-Wehda team, Mounir Al-Muhammadi.

And the Moroccan Football Federation published a brief statement through its official account on Twitter, confirming that Bono, the Seville goalkeeper, had left the official squad.

Albia said, "The goalkeeper, Yassin Bono, was replaced by the goalkeeper, Munir Al-Muhammadi," without going into any further details.

And he showed a video clip in which Bono appeared to be suffering from dizziness while standing to play the Moroccan national anthem, then he went to his coach Regragui, who asked him to calm down and asked substitute goalkeeper Mounir El Mohammadi to get up to participate in his place.

Bono participated in the first match of the Moroccan national team against Croatia, which ended in a goalless draw, while El-Mohammadi was the main goalkeeper for the “Atlas Lions” in the 2018 World Cup, which was held in Russia.

Bono is considered one of the important elements in the Moroccan national team, and last season he won the "Zamora" award, which is awarded to the best goalkeeper in the Spanish League, after his brilliance with his team, Seville.
