During Thursday, Börje Salming fell asleep, aged 71.

He was surrounded by his family in Nacka.

Stig Salming talks about the last moment.

- I got there 45 minutes before he died.

The whole family was there.

Everyone was very sad.

Those are very hard hours.

He continues:

- It has been something very heavy.

It is difficult to find home in life.

Now Börje has fallen asleep.

At least we got to be there when it happened.

"What you will preserve"

Stig Salming, who among other things won six SM golds with Brynäs during his playing career, was present during the Hockey Gala of the Times where Börje Salming was celebrated.

- It was very nice.

That is what you will preserve now, the nice reception and the respect everyone showed for Börje.

He also talks about the past year with Börje's disease.

- I have visited as often as I could.

We have had regular contact.

He lost his speech quite early.

It has been heavy and terrible, especially for Börje.

- It is hard to lose a brother who is younger than myself.

It was the same with my wife, who died when she was 73. Börje was 71. Normally you have ten more years, but you can't rule and dictate as you like.
