Already when it was clear that Umeå IK was out of the women's league for the second time in three years - Lisa Dahlkvist hinted that the match may have been her last match in her career.

And so it happened.

For now, the 35-year-old chooses to put the football boots on the shelf.

She announced this on Instagram.

- I have decided to end my football career.

So in the end, I mostly remember all the good memories and the less good ones as lessons.

I am so incredibly proud and happy about what I have been a part of.

The 35-year-old star has an impressive track record of 134 caps for the women's national team.

But Dahlkvist's career in the national team came to an abrupt end.

When Peter Gehardsson took over as national team captain after Pia Sundhage, Lisa Dahlkvist was no longer in the squad.

The 35-year-old left Kif Örebro in 2017 for Eskilstuna and since 2020 she has played in Umeå.

- The competition is over.

I have loved winning but hated losing even more.

It is what has driven me since I was a child.

The old man in the stands, it's ME!

You who know, you know, writes Dahlkvist.
