Al-Shahrani underwent a successful surgery in Riyadh.. and Salman Al-Faraj was injured in the shin bone

The Saudi left-back, Yasser Al-Shahrani, underwent successful surgery in Riyadh, after suffering a severe injury during his country's historic victory over Argentina 2-1 yesterday in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, according to what the "Green Falcons" announced today.

The team wrote on its official page on Twitter that Al-Shahrani had "a successful surgery in the pancreas gland, King Abdulaziz Medical City, National Guard, with follow-up from the team's medical staff."

Al-Shahrani left this morning Hamad Medical City in Doha, after being transferred by medical evacuation to the National Guard Hospital in Riyadh, after he underwent examinations following "a strong collision in the head, chest and abdomen."

Al-Shahrani was subjected to a strong collision with fellow goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais, in a joint ball in stoppage time of the second half at Lusail Stadium, which was crowded with more than 88,000 spectators.

Al-Shahrani reassured the fans of the national team with a video clip from the hospital, "I wanted to reassure you that my affairs are good.. your prayers for me.. and the fans of the Saudi national team deserve to win."

The 30-year-old Al-Hilal player performed heroically with his comrades, as they overturned their delay in the second half with the early goal of star Lionel Messi from a penalty kick, to a historic victory, the first for an Asian team over Argentina in the World Cup, thanks to the goals of Saleh Al-Shehri and Salem Al-Dosari.

On the other hand, medical examinations conducted for midfielder Salman Al-Faraj "revealed an injury to the shin bone," according to the Saudi Federation.

Al-Faraj, who is considered one of the main focal points in the squad of French coach Herve Renard, had left at halftime due to injury, and Nawaf Al-Abed played in his place.
