The German Football Association's (DFB) spokesperson Steffen Simon confirms to Bild that they want to test whether Fifa's ban was legal in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas).

The DFB wants quick processing, so that a decision can be made within 48 hours.

- Fifa has banned a symbol of diversity and human rights.

They combined this with massive threats of sporting consequences without specifying them.

The DFB is testing whether Fifa's procedure was correct, says Simon.

The announcement comes after Fifa warned of sporting consequences if the team captains of the World Cup nations wear the "One Love" armband.

A feared sanction has been that the player wearing the captain's armband receives a yellow card at the start of the match.

Fifa refers to an article in the Equipment Regulations, which states that the captains must use a captain's armband issued by Fifa.

The bandage that has so far been used during the WC bears the text "no discrimination".
