Disastrous results, failed player investments and upset supporters.

There has been quite a storm surrounding Manchester United's owners the Glazer family since they bought the club in 2005.

Voices have been raised for them to sell the club - something they have not even wanted to discuss.

But now it sounds different.

Need to renovate Old Trafford

English media, including the reliable The Athletic, write that the Glazers may consider selling the club to bring in investments that will go towards the renovation of the Old Trafford home arena and the Carrington training facility.

Another option is to sell parts of the club.

Manchester United have so far not commented on the information, but it is reported that the club could make a statement either tonight or on Wednesday.

The American Glazer family also owns the NFL club Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which in 2021 won the Super Bowl with superstar Tom Brady in the team.
