English Premier League club Arsenal have announced that Stina Blackstenius' attacking colleague Beth Mead tore her ACL in Saturday's game against Manchester United.

The club writes on its website that the striker is set for a longer period on the sidelines and that she will see a surgeon in the coming days.

Only after that do you know more about an accurate forecast.

Mead scored six goals and assisted five as England won the European Championships on home soil last summer.

The question is whether she can participate when the national team tries to repeat the success during next year's World Cup in Australia - which starts on July 20, 2023.

Arsenal currently lead their Champions League group and are second behind Chelsea in the Women's Super League.
