The Football World Cup, which started Sunday after with Ecuador's victory against Qatar (2-0) continues today with the entry into the running of the Netherlands, England but also Senegal.

This last country, French-speaking, just like Tunisia, Cameroon and Morocco.

Countries that will thrill an entire continent.

Several African countries participating in the Football World Cup are French-speaking.

Among them Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco and Cameroon.

So what are the chances of victory for these teams?

It is the African team that seems to have the best chance of going far in the competition.

Senegal, however deprived of its star Sadio Mané due to injury, arrives at the World Cup with great ambitions.

In Group A, with hosts Qatar, Ecuador and the Netherlands, the Senegalese players hope to represent an entire continent.

Currently 18th in the FIFA rankings, Senegal wants to repeat the exploit of 2002. They had then reached the quarter-finals of the competition.

A performance that would erase the terrible disappointment of 2018: Sadio Mané's team had been eliminated from the pools in fair play, for a yellow card, in favor of Japan.

Their first meeting is at 5 p.m., with the Group A clash against the Netherlands.

Tunisia: pass the hens

Another nation that intends to achieve the feat, Tunisia.

Currently 30th in the FIFA rankings, the team led by Wahbi Kazri will develop an ultra defensive game during this World Cup in Qatar.

Tunisia hopes to see Hannibal Majbri at his top level.

From the height of his 19 years, the native of Val de Marne can energize a meeting and make his technique speak.

The North African country has never gone beyond the group stages (1978, 1998, 2006 and 2018).

Qualifying for the finals would therefore be a great performance.

For its fifth participation in this competition, the Tunisians will be able to count on a whole people.

In group D, that of the Blues, they will play their first match on Tuesday at 2 p.m. against Denmark.

Beneficial draw for Morocco

They have every chance of passing the pools and therefore of equaling their best performance (round of 16 in 1986) in the World Cup.

In group F with Belgium, Croatia and Canada, Morocco can hold its own. 22nd nation in the FIFA rankings, the Atlas Lions have a talented collective with players like Ziyech or Belhanda again.

But like Senegal, Morocco will have to do without one of its pillars in the person of Amine Harit, injured at the last minute during a match with his club Olympique de Marseille.

Morocco will nevertheless be able to count on the Parisian Hakimi, always ready to deliver surgical centers for his partners and to make his speed speak.

Their first match is Wednesday at 11 a.m. against Croatia.

Cameroon and its stars

Finally, it is the last French-speaking team in Africa.

Cameroon and its group of well-known names from the European championships hope to reproduce their fine and best performance in the World Cup: it was a quarter-final in 1990. 43rd in the FIFA rankings, the Indomitable Lions will have a lot to do, especially with Brazil in group F. In the "death" group, Cameroon will also face Serbia and Switzerland.

Getting out of the pools would therefore be a feat for this selection but nothing scares Choupo-Moting and his teammates.

Moreover, the former star Samuel Eto'o, current president of the Cameroon Football Federation even sees the country "winning the competition".

After all, nothing is impossible in football, so you might as well believe it!
