14 European Championships in a row there has been at least one Swedish team in the final of the curling European Championships.

But this year, when the EC is decided in Östersund, both Swedish teams risk missing the playoffs.

The women's team in sixth place

A few hours after the men's loss to Switzerland, the women followed up by losing 5–7 to Scotland.

Thus, the ladies, led by skipper Anna Hasselborg, just like the men, are sixth in the group stage.

"Individually there are too many small mistakes that don't put enough pressure on Scotland."

Disappointing, indeed.

And they probably feel that themselves too, so it's no wonder that those of us who watched the match say so.

We know about their capacity, says SVT Sports expert Eva Lund about the Swedish team, which won both the Olympics and the EC.

Four matches remain

The Swedish ladies made a weak effort, and unusually missed many decisive stones that they normally do not miss.

- We have a little difficulty learning the ice.

There will be some mistakes where we lose points and unfortunately that will be decisive, says Agnes Knochenhauer.

Four matches remain in the group stage, and the Swedes must probably win all of these to be able to go to the playoffs.

Now they stand on two wins and three losses.

- We come with two cod in the back, then there will be a lot of pressure all the time and you feel the knife against the throat, it will be a bit disgusting, But we know that in a long group game like this where everyone beats everyone, then it is necessary to knead everyone the wins and so we hope we can be in the top four at the end of the week, says Knochenhauer.
