Qatar's first football team player, Hammam Al-Amin, confirmed that Al-Annabi's campaign in the tournament is not over yet, and the team will seek compensation in the next two matches against Senegal and the Netherlands in Group A of the World Cup.

Al-Amin added, in a statement to Al-Jazeera Net, that the loss of the Qatari team against Ecuador at the opening of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar will not eliminate its hopes of qualifying for the second round, but rather Al-Annabi will cling to hope and seek compensation.

Yesterday, the Qatari national team lost to Ecuador after the opening ceremony of the World Cup at Al-Bayt Stadium in Al-Khor city with two goals without a response, in a match that came at a poor level for Al-Annabi and did not show any dangerous areas in Ecuador's goal except in a single attack before the end of the match.

Al-Amin, who played left back in the Ecuador match, explained that yesterday's match was very difficult due to many reasons, the most important of which was the strength of the Ecuadorian national team and the lack of focus on most of Al-Annabi's elements, in addition to the absence of fighting spirit as well as the pressures of the opening match.

He said, "Ecuador is a very strong team and it was a difficult match. We aspired to appear better at the opening of the World Cup on our land and among our fans, but this is football and we will compensate in the upcoming matches against Senegal and the Netherlands."

The Qatari national team will play in the next round with Senegal next Friday at Al-Thumama Stadium, while it will conclude the first group matches in the third round by meeting the Netherlands on November 29 at Al-Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.

The Qatari national team player apologized to the Qatari fans for the team's performance and promised a better performance in the rest of the group matches, saying, "The Ecuador match has been closed in order to prepare for the Senegalese national team next Friday in the second group confrontation, during which we hope to compensate for the loss of the first 3 points against Ecuador." .

Al-Amin praised the great public support that Al-Annabi enjoys, calling for the completion of this wonderful picture that the fans drew in the first World Cup matches, and said, "This audience will be the first motivation for us to perform better against Senegal and the Netherlands."

The Qatari national team player expressed his hope for success for all the Arab teams participating in the World Cup, saying, "I wish success for the Arab teams in the World Cup and that they qualify for the second round and present an honorable performance for Arab football in the World Cup, which is held for the first time on Arab and Muslim soil."
