It was at the very beginning of the match that Iran's goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand was laid up for a long time after colliding with his own team's defender Majid Hosseini.

He started bleeding in the face, but changed his shirt and continued to play for a little while.

Then he was still forced to change and was taken out on a stretcher.

In came Seyed Hossein Hosseini.

That the goalkeeper, with a suspected concussion, was allowed to remain on the pitch is criticized by SVT's expert Jonas Eriksson.

- It is completely crazy that he is allowed to continue playing, he says.

Three goals in ten minutes

After 35 minutes then England's goal cavalcade began.

First up was the super talent Jude Bellingham who scored his first international goal when he headed in Luke Shaw's cross.

He also became the first player born in the 2000s to score a World Cup goal.

Next up was 21-year-old Bukayo Saka who neatly slotted in a half-volley after Harry Maguire headed the ball down.

Before the first half was over, Raheem Sterling had also made it 3-0 from close range.

Rashford scores directly

Just over a quarter of an hour into the second half, Saka scored his second of the night, but shortly after that Iran actually reduced the deficit through Mehdi Taremi.

Shortly thereafter came the second concussion situation of the match.

Then it was England's Harry Maguire who was forced to change after a blow to the head.

The 5-1 goal was scored by substitute Manchester United star Marcus Rashford.

That just a minute after he replaced Saka.

Jack Grealish sealed the result in the 90th minute.

- It is difficult to see Iran.

They entered the match well, but then it just got worse and worse, says SVT Sports expert commentator Markus Johannesson.

In added time Iran were awarded a penalty after video review and then Taremi reduced it to 6-2 with his second of the evening.

The other two teams in Group B are USA and Wales and they meet at 8pm tonight.
