An Emirati refereeing team officiates the Spain-Costa Rica match in the 2022 World Cup
The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) chose an Emirati arbitration team led by international referee Mohammed Abdullah Hassan to lead the match between Spain and Costa Rica, scheduled for next Wednesday at Al-Thumama Stadium, in the Group E matches in the Qatar World Cup 2022.
The Emirati arbitration team includes the two assistant referees, Mohammed Ahmed Al Hammadi and Hassan Al Mahri.
This is the first appearance of the Emirati arbitration crew in the World Cup in Qatar, after the same crew had previously appeared in the World Cup in Russia.
This is the seventh time that the UAE arbitration is present in the World Cup, after it was present in previous periods in the World Cups 94, 98, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2018.
