The American news agency “Bloomberg” published a report on the expectations of the Qatar World Cup 2022, the highest revenue in the history of the FIFA World Cup.

According to a source familiar with Bloomberg, the International Football Association "FIFA" (FIFA) had previously sold broadcasting rights and about 240,000 hospitality packages, in addition to 3 million tickets for matches in the tournament.

The source explained that marketing sales in the period from 2019 to 2022 will exceed the budgeted figure by about $ 1.8 billion, according to the agency.

The same source indicated that the tournament's revenues will exceed $6.4 billion, which is the figure that FIFA has been targeting over the past three years, as these revenues will be used in sports development activities around the world.

The report also expected Qatar to add nearly $17 billion to its economy, during the presence of fans throughout the days of the tournament.

Qatar is preparing for the start of the World Cup on the 20th of this month, when its team will meet Ecuador in the first round of Group A competitions at Al Bayt Stadium.
