Renard announces the Saudi national team squad for the World Cup in Qatar, and the most prominent excluded are Nawaf Al-Abed

French coach Herve Renard, the coach of the Saudi national football team, announced the final list of the "Green", which will participate in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The most important expelled veteran was Nawaf Al-Abed, although he was included in an initial list during preparations for the finals.

Al-Abed said through his personal account via the “Snapchat” application: “You want, and I want, and God does what He wants, thank God anyway.”

He added, "I wished to be with my colleagues in my last World Cup, and I am proud and happy for everything I did throughout my football career with the national team.

Renard called up strikers Fahd Al-Mawlid, Saleh Al-Shehri and captain Salman Al-Faraj, at the top of a list of 26 players for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar this month.

The French coach insisted on including the 28-year-old, despite his long suspension for violating the rules of doping, as he is the top scorer of the current generation and the most capped player in international matches.

He also included midfielder Al-Faraj, who scored against Egypt in the 2018 World Cup, after doubts about his injury dissipated in a friendly match against Iceland a few days ago, as well as Al-Shehri, who returned from a long injury.

Saudi Arabia begins its campaign against Argentina in Group C, which also includes Mexico and Poland.
