The Canadian landed at the airport in Skellefteå on Thursday evening.

- He is coming to Skellefteå this evening and will have a medical examination here.

If everything looks good, he will play here for the rest of the season, the club's general manager Erik Forssell told Norran earlier in the day.

The 24-year-old forward only managed 15 games in Skellefteå last season before injuries put an end to it.

But Mascherin scored seven goals and a total of eight points in the games and managed to make an impact before recurring shoulder problems forced him to the operating table.

But now he is back.

- I'm really excited to come back.

So is my family.

They and the fiancee said, after visiting and living in Skellefteå, that they loved it.

I had incredible fun there last time.

I've never had so much fun playing hockey.

The fans are absolutely fantastic to play in front of so I just want to get out on the ice in Skellefteå Kraft Arena and hear their chants from the stands again.

It's so freaking awesome, he says in a press release.

Skellefteå is currently third in the SHL and next week they will play the round of 16 in the Champions Hockey League against Zurich.
