The last jump secured third place in the ski jumping World Cup competition in Poland's Wisla.

An achievement which meant that the Swedish wait for a podium finish - the last one was taken by Mikael Martinsson in 1992 - was over.

“It really was a fantastic weekend that I continue to be happy about.

I want to take the opportunity to thank all the happy reactions and congratulations after the podium.

It was unexpected, but wonderful to experience," says 21-year-old Frida Westman in a press release.

But it's not all joy.

When she landed the last jump, she felt a sensation in her right knee.

"Before the knee has been properly examined, we cannot speculate in either direction," says Andreas Arén, athletically responsible for ski jumping, in the press release.

Last season, Westman debuted in the World Cup.

She finished 13th overall and with two fourth place finishes as best.

The next World Cup competition will be held in Lillehammer at the beginning of December.
