It was at a press conference on Monday that Ingvild Flugstad Östberg shared the news.

The idea is that Østberg will be back on the ski trail as soon as the Norwegian ski premiere in Beitostølen on November 18-20.

The 31-year-old has had problems with his health for the past two years and suffered a stress fracture in his foot in the summer of 2020.

She competed at the beginning of last season, in Ruka, Lillehammer and Davos, but then failed the health tests and was forced to sit out the rest of the Olympic season.

Now she has received a positive response from the health tests and she feels ready to compete again.

- I am very proud of that and very happy about it.

It has been very tough work.

I have had very good people around me, she says at the press conference.

Is outside the national team

- Above all, I am happy that I can do what I spent so much time on.

Östberg was not selected for this season's national team, but continues on his own, with the help of Therese Johaug's former coach Pål Gunnar Mikkelplass.

- I have managed to do a good job anyway.

A lot has happened from April-May to where I am today.
