- Today we wore the blues more than I have seen in a long time, says Skellefte coach Robert Ohlsson to C More.

- We took a step today and it was really, really nice.

Against Brynäs, it has been slow in the previous meetings between the teams.

The Gävle team had taken three three-pointers in a row against Skellefteå before Saturday's meeting and started strongly this time as well.

Not a remarkable shot

Skellefteå had almost never been out of their own zone.

Then Skellefteå forward Rickard Hugg struck.

The home team's first shot on goal came after 4.42 and didn't look remarkable, but Brynäs goalie Anders Lindbäck let the puck pass him.

The goal meant an end to Brynäs' playing superiority and soon it was 2-0 after a new fade from the merited Brynäs goalkeeper.

Lindbäck went out to stop a puck behind his box but was outplayed and home defender Elias Salomonsson could easily put the puck in an open cage after 12.30.

Skellefteåbacken Anton Olsson received a five-minute expulsion shortly afterwards for a head tackle, but Brynäs did not take the chance.

In a four-on-four game, it was instead Skellefteå who extended the score to 3-0 when Jonathan Johnson at the far post was served a perfect pass by Skellefteå's brilliant 18-year-old Elias Salomonsson.

- We played well in the first period.

The late goals came after mistakes at the back.

We have to get the pucks deep and win them, get the puck on goal and push it there, said Brynäscenter Linus Ölund to C More before the third period.
