Norwegian star Erling Haaland, Manchester City's top scorer, appeared handcuffed in the first half of the match against Dortmund in the Champions League, and his return to Dortmund was unsuccessful, amid fears of a foot injury or a fever.

Haaland, 22, who left Dortmund last summer on a €60m transfer deal, failed to make an impact against his old club.

Haaland touched the ball only 13 times, never shot on goal, and only made 7 successful passes.

In addition, he sustained an elbow wound and blood spurted from his arm.

In the break between the two halves, coach Pep Guardiola directed Haaland, and replaced him with Portuguese Bernardo Silva.

Neither team was able to score, and Algerian star Riyad Mahrez missed a penalty kick, ending the match with a draw, which was enough for the two teams to reach the knockout stage in the main continental championship.

The replacement of Halland raised many questions, as coach Guardiola 3 confirmed concerns about the young star.

The Spanish coach explained, "I saw him very tired, and it was clear that he had a fever, and he also suffered a blow to his foot, and for this reason he could not continue playing in the second half."

And about the severity of the injury, Guardiola said, "I don't know now, I spoke with the medical staff at half-time and they were a little worried."

"I saw him go well in the end," he concluded.

It is scheduled to play Man City in the next match against Leicester City in the Premier League next Saturday.

This is only the third match this season in which Haaland failed to score, in addition to the matches of Bournemouth and Liverpool in the Premier League.

Despite fasting in these three matches, Haaland has 22 goals in 15 games, in addition to 3 assists.
