Europe 1 with AFP 8:32 p.m., October 24, 2022

Before the matches of the penultimate day of the group stage on Tuesday, we take stock group by group.

The first two will qualify for the eighth.

Third-placed clubs advance to the Europa League Round of 16;

fourth-placed clubs are eliminated.

In Group E, Chelsea lead with 7 points, ahead of RB Salzburg (6 points), AC Milan (4 points) and Dinamo Zagreb (4 points).

Chelsea will qualify for the Round of 16 if they win in Salzburg.

In the event of a draw, their qualification will be ensured if AC Milan win in Zagreb (if Chelsea win and if Zagreb lose or draw, the Blues will also be guaranteed to finish top of Group E).

Salzburg can qualify on the double condition that the Austrian club beats Chelsea and that Milan does not win in Zagreb.

Milan will not be able to qualify for the round of 16 if they lose in Zagreb by three or more goals.

Likewise, if the Milanese lose and Salzburg win, it will be the end of the Italian champions' hopes of qualification.

Zagreb will be out if they lose and Chelsea draw or win at Salzburg.

Real Madrid already qualified

RB Leipzig are second in the group with 6 points, just ahead of Shaktar Donetsk (5 points).

Last with 1 point, Celtic Glasgow is almost eliminated.

Leipzig can qualify on Tuesday if they beat Real and Shakhtar lose in Glasgow.

Shakhtar will be dropped from the C1 Round of 16 race if they lose in Glasgow and Leipzig win.

Celtic no longer has a chance of reaching the round of 16 but maintains a hope of being transferred to the Europa League in the event of a victory.

Dortmund in good shape

In Group G, Manchester City is already qualified.

Dortmund is almost with its 7 points.

Third on equal points, Sevilla and Copenhagen are behind.

Manchester City ensured their qualification from the 4th day.

If they win or draw at Dortmund, the English champions will be guaranteed to finish top of Group G.

Dortmund will advance to the knockout stages if they win.

If the German club draws and Copenhagen does not win, their qualification will also be in their pocket.

Dortmund can even qualify if they lose, provided Sevilla and Copenhagen draw.

Sevilla will be left out of the knockout stages if they don't win, or if Dortmund avoid defeat.

Mathematically, Copenhagen can still hope but for that it will have to beat Sevilla and hope that Dortmund does not beat Manchester City.
