At the City Ground came a shock defeat for Liverpool.

The big club, with 1–0 wins against West Ham and Manchester City in the last two rounds, fell 0–1 against Nottingham Forest.

The Premier League newcomer's second win after nine league games without a win.

The decisive goal came ten minutes into the second half.

After a free kick, the ball ended up in the hands of striker Taiwo Awoniyi who first hit the post, and on the rebound the Nigerian made it 1-0 to the great delight of the home supporters.

Awoniyi belonged to Liverpool between 2015 and 2021, but never got the chance in the first team and was mostly loaned out.

The loss was Liverpool's third in eleven games.

And the club still have zero away wins this season.

Two crosses and three losses, the weakest away start since the 2010/2011 season when Roy Hodgson was manager of Liverpool.
