The arrival of the Olympic champions and five-time world champions in ice dancing drew many fans to the spot, including children who were delighted to get a selfie with the famous skaters.

The duo discovered the new facade of the building, built in 1972. This is where they took their first steps on ice, some twenty years ago.

“We know this rink inside and out, sometimes better than our house.

It's a privilege for us,” said Gabriella Papadakis.

His partner added that they were always “very happy to come back”.

The president of the metropolis, for his part, explained that he wanted to see the renowned ice rink welcome future champions.
