H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, crowned the Sharjah Football Team as a champion of the President's Cup, after defeating Al Wahda with one goal without a response, in the final match that brought them together at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.

The coronation ceremony was attended by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the Emirates Football Association, and members of the Federation's Board of Directors.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed crowned the Sharjah players with the ninth "precious" cup in their career, and His Highness also honored the members of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Club.

The Al Wahda team won the silver medals assigned to the runners-up in this tournament.

Yesterday, the final match was attended by nearly 20 thousand spectators.

The Sharjah team owes this victory to its Spanish striker, Paco Alcacer, through a free kick in the 53rd minute, after the first half ended in a goalless draw.

The title is the ninth for Sharjah, and the first since the 2003 season. Romanian coach Olario Cosmin succeeded in breaking the knot in the final matches in the competition, after losing the title on two occasions, when he was then coach of Al-Ahly youth.

Al Wahda did not benefit from its advantage at the beginning of the match, thanks to the movements of Ahmed Refaat and Rabin Felipe, amid a clear decline by the Sharjah team, and the first attempts came from Refaat's cross, which was removed by Sharjah goalkeeper Darwish Muhammad, before Joao Pedro advanced to it.

Sharjah appeared in a better attack, after six minutes through the Bosnian cross Pjanic, which was removed by Al Wahda defender Lucas Pimenta to a corner kick before the ball reached Sharjah striker Caio Lucas.

Al-Wahda almost paid dearly for Muhammad Barghash's mistake, when he was slow to remove the ball and was snatched by the "active" Caio, but he shot into the net from outside the stadium (13).

Sharjah succeeded in absorbing the enthusiasm of the unit, after that game, and began to simplify his control over the course of the game, and get a fixed kick from a good place executed by Pjanic, to pass over everyone's heads to the outside of the stadium.

The unit continued to search for itself offensively, after Cosmin tightened his grip on the dangerous left side by joining Majid Rashid and Muhammad Abdul Baset to assist Khaled Al-Dhanhani, to find Pedro alone, without opportunities to obtain.

The Sharjah goalkeeper appeared in the photo after a long absence when he removed Pimenta's header "34".

After the break, Sharjah entered the match stadium, without its star Pjanic, who was replaced by Abu Bakr Kamara, so that the unitary attempts continued without threatening Darwish Muhammad's goal.

Sharjah benefited from the experience of its Spanish player Alcacer, who took advantage of the lack of a human wall, and a wrong stance on the part of goalkeeper Mohammed Al Shamsi, and hit the ball directly in the direction of the goal to settle in the upper left corner of Al Annabi's goal.

Al-Wahda players became nervous after the goal, and Sharjah knew how to deal with the situation and absorbed the outburst of his opponent, and almost added the goal of reinforcement, when Alcacer passed a long ball to Caio, who was in a solitary position with the goal, but he threw the ball over the crossbar.

Both coaches intervened, so the Spanish coach of Al-Wahda, Jimenez Khalil Ibrahim, entered at the expense of Ahmed Rafat, and Cosmin pushed his international player, Majid Hassan, at the expense of Alcacer, who complained of some pain.

The confusion affected goalkeeper Mohammed Al Shamsi, who slipped from his line by mistake in a ball controlled by Caio, but Faris Jumaa intervened and took the risk away from his goal (65).

Ismail Matar missed the most dangerous chances of unity in this half, when he distributed Mohamed Barghash at the head of Ismail Matar, but he did not improve the handling of the ball and put it next to the right post, to be replaced after that game, with his colleague Tigali.

Al-Wahda's attempts were renewed against the Sharjah goal, and this time it was lost from defender Faris Jumaa, who received a pass while on the goal gate and put his foot next to the post in a lapse from the defense of the Sharjah team "76".

Joao Pedro failed to score from a ball passed to him by Alan Marcos, after which the Sharjah goalkeeper went out of his net by mistake to put it over the crossbar "88".
