- The Football World Cup is always football of the absolute highest class with the biggest stars, but as always major championships are not only about what happens on the football pitch.

SVT Sport therefore continuously monitors and reviews major issues such as the awarding of the championship to Qatar, the conditions of migrant workers in the country, LGBTQ issues and much more, says Åsa Edlund Jönsson, head of SVT Sport.

During the championship in Qatar, SVT Sport will continue the news reporting, but also broadcast the championship.

Half of the matches are on SVT and half on TV 4.

Daniel Nannskog has worked with some of the biggest football championships on the men's side since 2012. In the studio this time, he is joined as usual by the host André Pops and other profiles, including former World Cup referee Jonas Eriksson and football columnist Therese Strömberg.

Several guest experts will also appear.

- It's always just as fun to work with the "dragon" Jonas Eriksson.

Together with André and Therese in the studio, you really couldn't wish for a better team during this WC finals, says Nannskog.

Gathering power on SVT Play

On site in Qatar, SVT has commentators Chris Härenstam and Pelle Bäckman as well as expert commentators Glenn Strömberg and Markus Johannesson.

Reporters Johan Kücükaslan, Rihaneh Rouhani, Samir Abu Eid, Bella Franzén and Kamil Bochenski manage the coverage and the extra important journalism around both the World Cup party and the host country Qatar on site.

In addition to the live broadcasts, SVT will also offer content investments.

On SVT Play, SVT focuses on the viewing experience and highlights highlights from all matches.

- We have a very sharp and experienced team that works with the football World Cup 2022 on all digital and linear platforms.

The ambition is to offer the viewers more perspectives, entertainment, initiated football knowledge and not least a very strong presence on site during the winter's big football party, says SVT's project manager Bobby Baksi.
