The Central Bank issues commemorative coins on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the "UAEFA"

The Central Bank of the Emirates, in cooperation with the UAE Football Association, announced the upcoming issuance of commemorative silver coins on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Federation, in conjunction with the final of the President of the State Cup.

The issuance of this commemorative coin aims to highlight the great achievements made by the Emirates Football Association since its establishment in 1971 at the Gulf and international levels.

The Central Bank will issue 1,000 silver coins, each weighing 40 grams.

The front side will include the logo and name of the Emirates Football Association in both Arabic and English, and the phrase "50 years" in celebration of the history of the Football Association.

As for the back side, it will include the UAE emblem surrounded by the name of the Central Bank of the UAE in both Arabic and English, in addition to the nominal value of the coin (50 dirhams), knowing that it will not be available for sale at the headquarters of the Central Bank and its branches.

On this occasion, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the Emirates Football Association, confirmed that this publication is an important historical step, and a tribute to all those who worked in the Football Association since its establishment until today.

The President of the Federation expressed his happiness to celebrate the history of a prestigious national sports institution that has contributed to achieving many regional, continental and international achievements.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi praised the efforts of the UAE Central Bank and its management, stressing that these coins will be a living memory, reminding generations of the giving made by the various boards of directors and the rest of the affiliates, and the importance of football as a human activity and the first popular game in the world.

He also praised the cooperation with the Central Bank, which comes within the Football Association's plan to open up to all national institutions and to consolidate the relationship between the football family and the rest of the public and private sectors in the country.

In turn, the Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, Khaled Muhammad Balama, stressed: “The issuance of these commemorative coins embodies the achievements of the Emirates Football Association in the field of developing football, investing in sports talents to serve the community and achieving more progress and success at the local and global levels. Through this publication, we reinforce the importance of football and its role in representing the UAE in foreign forums, and we also appreciate the efforts of the Federation to advance this sport.”
