This is how the opening round is played:

* Skirö is above the first round.

The newcomers:

In the men's elite series, Gripen/Trollhättan is back in the top series, while the series was slimmed down from 16 to 14 teams, and the trio Örebro, Rättvik and Tellus left.

On the women's side, Uppsala BoIS is back in the elite series, as is Sunvära SK.

Here, the series was expanded from eight to ten teams, but became one team short when Skutskär chose to withdraw from the elite series.

Thus, the coming season will be carried out with nine teams.

This is how it went last season:

Edsbyn took their 13th SM gold on the men's side after a 5-4 victory in the final against Villa/Lidköping.

But on the women's side, Lidköping got a gold when the Villa ladies defeated AIK 4-0 and defended the SM gold from 2021.
