Djurgården continued to press directly on kick-off in the second half.

Joel Asoro took advantage of a defensive mistake and chipped the ball forward to Gustav Wikheim, who volleyed wide to make it 4-0 just twelve seconds after the referee blew the whistle to start the half.

The crowd, which had barely recovered from the first half's 3-0, could hardly believe their eyes.

Wikheim was also 5-0 inside but it was too good to be true against his old club (played two games in the 2016-17 season).

The referee detected an offside on Kalle Holmberg which was considered to interfere with the goalkeeper's field of vision of the Wikheim ball track.

In the Conference League, no VAR is used.

When it looked like Belgian Gent were going to collapse, they rallied and reduced both 4-1 and 4-2 but it never got exciting as they never got the third.

Injury break did not stop Djurgården

Just before the break, Joel Asoro feinted over the line and played it in to Magnus Eriksson who angled it back to Gustav Wikheim who hit straight away to make it 2-0.

Deep into added time in the first half, Emmanuel Banda increased the lead to 3-0 after a header from a free kick from the right wing by Magnus Eriksson.

After 20 minutes, Gustav Wikheim sent the ball in from the left wing.

Between two Gent players, Kalle Holmberg went on straight away and scored 1-0 for Djurgården and really took the chance as a replacement for Victor Edvardsen who was sitting on the bench.

Shortly afterwards, centre-back Marcus Danielson was injured when he backed towards his own goal and was mowed down by his own goalkeeper Alexander Vasyutin.

Danielson received treatment for a couple of minutes before he could continue.

At the same time, Hjalmar Ekdal sat down with an injury and was replaced.
