It's been a massacre in Ligue 1 since the ousting of Peter Bosz from OL.

After Jean-Marc Furlan, asked to put his finger away and leave AJA, and Michel Der Zakarian (Stade Brestois), it's Oscar Garcia's turn to take the door to Reims.

The Spanish coach was suspended by his management on Thursday and temporarily replaced by his assistant, William Still, because of results "below objectives".

This layoff also aims "to protect the best interests of the institution", specifies the Reims club in a press release.

Reims are currently 15th in the league, with just one win in ten games.

The club remains despite everything on a convincing draw (0-0) against PSG.

A meeting which Oscar Garcia, retained in Spain, did not attend.

In office since June 2021, the Spanish coach announced on October 7 on social networks to be in Barcelona "for family reasons of the utmost importance".

A complicated trip to Lorient

Garcia, ex-trainer of Saint-Etienne and Red Bull Salzburg in particular, had declared, during his official presentation, to want to "establish in Reims a philosophy which is a mixture between that of Barcelona and Salzburg".

He had finished his first season in 12th place, contributing to the emergence of striker Hugo Ekitike, on loan with an option to buy last summer at PSG.

His successor, the Belgian William Still, 29, had already replaced Garcia on several occasions, when he was suspended in September or during his absences for personal reasons.

Stade de Reims travels to Lorient, astonishing dolphin of PSG, on Saturday, during the 11th day of Ligue 1.
