Erling Haaland scored in the tenth match in a row in all competitions, to lead Manchester City to a 4-0 victory over its guest Southampton and topped the English Premier League on Saturday, and Chelsea beat its guest Wolverhampton 3-0 to continue its victories with new coach Graham Potter.

The Norwegian striker had suffered a difficult match by his exceptional standards, but he scored in the 65th minute to make the score 4-0, after two goals in the first half from Joao Cancelo and Phil Foden, in addition to a goal after the break from Riyad Mahrez.

With this victory, City advanced to the top with 23 points from 9 games, two points ahead of Arsenal, who can regain the lead if they beat their guest, Liverpool, on Sunday.

Southampton comes in 16th place with 7 points, after losing for the fourth time in a row in the league, which increased the pressure on coach Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Haaland entered the match in a glowing state after scoring a hat-trick in a 6-3 win over Manchester United last week, and also scored two goals in a 5-0 win over Copenhagen in the Champions League in the middle of the week.

However, Haaland was not lucky to score during the first half, and hit a ball that hit the post and watched it move outside the goal.

Halland later hit a long shot and missed a header in the second half, but he finally managed to hit the net after meeting a cross from Cancelo from the left side, and he shot directly from one touch to reach his 15th goal in the league, and it is the 20th goal in all competitions this season.

Chelsea continues to win with coach Potter

In another match, Kai Haverts, Christian Pulisic and Armando Broja scored, to beat Chelsea 3-0 at home to struggling Wolverhampton at Stamford Bridge, and scored their first home win in the Premier League with new coach Graham Potter.

Chelsea beat Crystal Palace at the last minute in their first match with Potter, before crushing Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday, and continued their victories over Wolverhampton - who had previously sacked his coach - with a result that reflected his dominance in the match.

Chelsea hit 12 balls in the first half, including 4 balls on the goal, and acquired the ball by 70%, but all of that did not pay off after wasting many opportunities and the brilliance of goalkeeper Jose Sa.

Haverts managed to give the hosts a header at the end of the first half, when Sa - far from his goal - could not deal with a header that passed over him into the net, after a cross pass from Mason Mount.

Pulisic missed several chances, and hit a ball that Sa narrowly missed in the first half, but he hit the net 10 minutes after the break after he exchanged passes with Mount before putting it over the goalkeeper who went out to meet him.

Wolverhampton did not pose any danger, and Boja scored the third goal after a pass from Mateo Kovacic on a perfect evening for coach Potter.
