Messi misses Saint-Germain due to injury

The Argentine star, Lionel Messi, will miss the match between his team Paris Saint-Germain against its host Rennes tomorrow in the French Football League, due to a slight calf injury, as announced by the coach of the capital club, Christoph Galtier, on Friday.

Messi had demanded to be substituted in the last minutes of his team's match against Benfica (1-1) in the Champions League on Wednesday, as he suffered from a slight calf injury after an intervention from one of the Benfica players.

"Leo will rest. He will return to training on Sunday and Monday before the return match against Benfica," Galtier said in a press conference on the eve of the match.

As for the club's medical staff, he said that Messi felt "discomfort in his calf".

Saint-Germain faces 9 matches from now until November 13, the date of the release of international players to participate in their national teams in the World Cup in Qatar.

On the other hand, Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe suffers from a sore throat in recent days and the shape is hovering around his participation in the match as well.

But the club indicated that he is recovering and his presence in the squad cannot be ruled out.
