The Qatar World Cup Security Operations Commander explained that this program included several training programs such as (stadium security and safety, security sense, crowd management, human rights, first aid, cooperation with the public) in addition to the tournament’s policies and procedures program according to each location, which covered training on evacuation The facility and training on potential scenarios.

Sheikh Khalifa said that specialized experts from the European Police and Europol were used in these programs, and all of them conformed to what is approved and applied by the International Football Association (FIFA), and the total number of participants in these programs from government security reached 32,000 participants, in addition to 17,000 from security The private.

He continued, "We were also keen to raise the level of readiness and implement security plans and bring them down to reality through a number of fictitious office and field exercises, the last of which was the organization of a "homeland exercise" in November 2021 with the participation of a number of civil and military authorities, and brotherly and friendly forces from outside Qatar, In addition to the participation of the stakeholders in FIFA, it included the implementation of scenarios designed to simulate the various tasks, tasks and scenarios during the tournament, according to the competencies of the participating parties in the exercise, to ensure operational readiness and joint coordination between all parties.”

Sheikh Khalifa announced that preparations are now underway to establish and organize the "Watan 2 exercise" this October, which will include different scenarios, and in other locations with the aim of improving performance and ensuring levels of internal communication between civil and military stakeholders, in addition to participating forces from outside Qatar.

He stressed that the various sports tournaments hosted by the State of Qatar over the past few years constituted a real test of the readiness of cadres, stadiums, devices and modern security technologies that will be used during the World Cup.

Sheikh Khalifa concluded the dialogue by saying, “The tournament’s Security and Safety Operations Committee works in an integrated and homogeneous manner with its regional and international partners to ensure the smooth exchange of information and experiences in the security fields.
