On Wednesday, it became clear that Mattias Tedenby, the prestige signing in HV71, will be out for at least six weeks due to the foot injury he sustained in Saturday's match against Oskarshamn.

Heavy for the Jönköping team, which is also looking for form on the ice.

Today was the fourth straight loss against an Örebro team that has instead started the SHL season convincingly.

Marcus Ericsson in the stands

Self-confidence can hardly have diminished for the near-kings after tonight's performance.

In the stands to follow the finish party was Indy500 winner Marcus Ericsson, the Swedish racing driver who grew up in Kumla, and who was applauded by the home crowd before the descent.

Örebro took the lead early on when just 17-year-old Leo Carlsson sent in the lead goal in a five-on-three game in the first period.

Did not live up to expectations

The home team then extended to 2–0 and 3–0, also those goals were scored in numerical superiority, in the second period.

The loss means that HV71, tipped as one of the favorites for the SM gold during the preliminaries despite the fact that they have just returned to the top league, have now lost five of the first six games of the season.
