The World Cup trophy arrived in Paris on Thursday and was placed under tight security in a large hotel in the capital.

A month and a half before the start of the competition in Qatar, it must be exposed to the public despite the risk of disruption.

According to various concordant sources joined by Europe 1, the mythical trophy of the Football World Cup arrived this Thursday for a few days in the French capital.

It should be on display until October 11 and will "stay" in a large Parisian hotel, very close to the Trocadero.

The trophy benefits from a treatment comparable to that of high personalities.

Two levels of security have indeed been put in place around Fifa, the organizer of the event, by the hotel group and the Paris police headquarters.

The trophy will sleep in an ultra-secure safe during its stay.

The fear of a "media action" against the World Cup in Qatar

According to a source close to the operation, the intelligence services of the Paris Police Prefecture have identified several possible calls for protest operations around the trophy, in particular anti-globalization associations, because of the controversies linked to the organization of the World Cup in Qatar.

The collective "Red card for Qatar" is thus likely to organize a "media action", according to a police source, during one of these events.

Traditionally, the trophy is displayed in several countries around the world before the competition.

For the moment, no modification of the program is planned.

Several promotion and sponsorship operations, including some at the Trocadero, are planned in the French capital.

Under high surveillance.

Friday and Saturday, the World Cup must in particular be exhibited on a barge on the Seine and on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower.

On Sunday, it should be visible at the Pierre-de-Coubertin stadium on the occasion of a futsal tournament organized by the French Football Federation (FFF).
