Professional baseball Nippon-Ham has announced that it has agreed to a new one-year contract with Tsuyoshi Shinjo, who was in his first year this season, and will continue to lead next season.

At the ceremony of the final match of the home base held at the Sapporo Dome on the 28th of last month, Shinjo revealed that he had been asked to lead the team next season, and said, "I will reply now. I look forward to working with you," and indicated his intention to lead Nippon-Ham in the next season.

Regarding this, Nippon Ham announced on the 6th that it had officially agreed on a one-year contract.



Nippon-Ham was the last team with a losing streak of 22 this season, but Shinjo has declared that he will aim for the best in Japan for the next season at the new stadium.



Koji Kawamura, president of the Nippon-Ham baseball team, said, "In the first year, the result was last place, which was very frustrating for the fans. There were many examples of him drawing out his latent ability and motivation.I confirmed his firm determination to focus on the game next season, and asked him to lead the next season."
