Leipzig led 1-0 after the first half, but the ball had not been rolling for long in the second before the away side's Jota struck with his first Champions League of the season to equalize for the Scottish visitors.

The home crowd were moderately impressed with the refereeing decisions when Leipzig subsequently had not just one, but two goals disallowed by VAR decision.

But the mood in the stands turned from discontent to joy in the 64th minute when Celtic keeper Joe Hart was responsible for a kick-out he will probably soon forget.

The English keeper completely misjudged where he had his defenders and passed the ball straight to the feet of Dominik Szoboszlai who passed to André Silva's 2-1.

On the bench were Emil Forsberg and Sead Haksabanovic in each team.

Both were substituted in the second half and Forsberg was involved in the play-off that paved the way for Leipzig's 3-1 victory, where again it was André Silva who was in front.

Sead Haksabanovic was one of the players who left Russia this summer and during the summer was loaned to Djurgården before leaving the Stockholm club for Celtic.
