Spain and Portugal join Ukraine in bid to host the 2030 World Cup

Spain and Portugal have combined in their joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup in football, Ukraine, which is currently facing a Russian invasion, according to what the heads of the three federations announced today at a press conference at the headquarters of the European Union for the game (Wifa) in the Swiss city of Nyon.

"The project aims to be a source of inspiration for society through football, by sending a message of solidarity and hope," the Spanish Federation said in a statement.
