Dubai won the right to host the 38th edition of the International Conference on Sports Medicine, to be held in 2024, and this came on the sidelines of the 37th edition of the conference in Mexico during the period (22-25) last September, in which the Sports Medicine Committee of the National Olympic Committee participated.

The UAE was represented in the conference, which witnessed the attendance of more than 1,000 participants and 117 sports medicine committees from all over the world, Dr. Abdullah Al Rahoumi, Vice Chairman of the Sports Medicine Committee of the National Olympic Committee, where a selection of affiliates in the field of sports medicine, whether orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists and specialists, participated in the conference. Nutritionists, occupational therapists and psychiatrists, as they reviewed the request to host Dubai, which was submitted to the management of the organizing committee of the conference at the beginning of this year, after many discussions and periodic meetings of the Sports Medicine Committee of the Olympic Committee headed by Dr. Hashel Al Tunaiji.

The UAE's victory came after a competition with Croatia and Chile, so that the next conference will be held in Dubai.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rahoumi received the flag of the conference from Filippo Gomez, Chairman of the Sports Medicine Committee in Mexico, after the announcement of Dubai's victory in organizing it, and the signing of the hosting agreement.

Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education, President of the General Sports Authority, First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee and Head of the Executive Office, valued the importance of this step, which confirms the UAE’s position as the best options for decision-makers at the regional and global levels in various fields of sports work. He praised the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, on the need to build partnerships with various international bodies, bodies and organizations, in order to achieve the desired benefit for UAE sport.

Hilal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, said in a press statement, "Dubai's win to host the International Conference on Sports Medicine is the result of constructive cooperation with our partners in the public and private sectors, especially with the Sports Medicine Committee of the National Olympic Committee, where an offer was submitted to host It is integrated and attractive to win this international conference, based on Dubai’s huge potential, advanced infrastructure, organizational capacity, and track record of hosting major international events and events.”
