The disastrous defeat led to calls from former United stars Roy Keane and Rio Ferdinand for coach Ten Hag to include Ronaldo, their former teammate, who scored his only goal this season from a penalty kick against Sherif of Moldova in the European League.
Kane claims Ten Hag showed "disrespect" to Ronaldo, warning that the situation would soon turn "for the worse".
