• Group A: Naples in bulldozer mode, Liverpool in the right tempo

This Napoli applies the same recipe for success in Europe as in Italy: dominate by scoring a lot.

Leader of Serie A with the best attack, the Neapolitan club does the same in Group A, where it occupies first place with an impressive goal ratio.

After victories against Liverpool (4-1) and against Glasgow Rangers (3-0), Naples went to inflict a humiliation on Ajax in the Netherlands with a river success on the score of 6-1.

The Italians have, by far, the best attack of this group stage of the Champions League with already 13 achievements.

In the other game of the evening, Liverpool took over Rangers (2-0, goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah).

The Reds alone take second place in Group A with 6 points, while the Glasgow club remain at 0 points.

  • Group B: Bruges imposes its law, Griezmann misses out

When the draw for this group stage took place, Club Brugge were not expected as favorites in Group B, where bettors were betting more on regulars like Atlético de Madrid and FC Porto.

Halfway through this first round, it is however the Belgian champion who leads the dance.

The Belgians, victorious over Atlético 2-0, lead the group with 9 points.

The Spanish club, for its part, has a second loss in a row.

And Antoine Griezmann, established by Diego Simeone, was not successful: the Frenchman catapulted a penalty on the crossbar.

Back to the wall after two defeats, FC Porto reacted by taming Bayer Leverkusen at the Dragon Stadium (2-0).

A result that leaves Bruges soaring with 9 points, while Porto, Leverkusen and Atlético all have 3 units to their name.

Atlético de Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann leaves the Brugge pitch head down on October 4, 2022. The Frenchman missed a penalty during the evening.

  • Group C: Bayern without rival, Inter celebrate

Bayern Munich's ride continues without a hitch in Group C. As expected, the German behemoth is above the lot.

The Bavarians made short work of the modest Viktoria Plzen (5-0).

Leroy Sané scored twice which allows him to be at least temporarily the top scorer in the competition (4 goals), and Serge Gnabry, Sadio Mané and Éric-Maxim Choupo-Moting also took part in the celebration.

Bayern have still not conceded a goal in this first round.

Inter Milan, for its part, had to fight to win the crucial match against FC Barcelona (1-0).

Hakan Calhanoglu delivered the Lombard supporters just before the break.

No matter how much Barça pushed then, they failed to force the Italian lock, despite several hot situations.

Pedri's equalizer in the 67th minute was ruled out by video assistance due to a handball from Ansu Fati.

The Catalans also protested when the referee decided not to award a penalty for a possible Denzel Dumfries handball minutes from time.

If we consider that the first place is promised to Bayern, Inter took the lead first over Barça in the race for the second jump seat.

  • Group D: Tottenham and Frankfurt do not benefit from the fall of Sporting

After Olympique de Marseille's victory against Sporting Portugal (4-1), Tottenham and Eintracht Frankfurt had the opportunity to join the Portuguese club at the top of Group D. But the 0-0 draw between the two teams does not help anyone.

Sporting remain leaders while Spurs and the Europa League winners remain tied on 4 points.

OM are still last, but with their 3 points, the Marseille club is in ambush.
