Tove Alexandersson took her eighth consecutive overall victory in the World Cup yesterday, but she was not allowed to finish on top as long distance was on the schedule today in Davos, Switzerland.

She led the first TV control, but until the second one made a choice of path she lost a lot.

Then she was three and a half minutes from the leader.

- Oh, what she has lost.

She doesn't make a mistake on control, but she misjudges a stretch and gets tangled up while running on the steep incline.

She is far behind, says Mats Troeng.

At the end, Alexandersson continued to run fast, but the mistakes also kept coming.

In the end, she finished fifth, over six minutes from victory.

- None of the Swedish ladies did a technically sound race.

There are things to improve for all runners, says Troeng.

The victory went to the Swiss Simona Aebersold and second was the Norwegian Andrine Benjaminsen.

The Swiss Elena Roos came third.

The second best Swede was the talent Hanna Lundberg, who came eighth.

Lina Strand, Johanna Öberg and Lisa Risby were also among the top ten.

In the World Cup overall, Aebersold was second and Benjaminsen passed Strand, moving up to third place.
