No giant screen will broadcast the matches of the Football World Cup within the walls of the town of Rodez (Aveyron);

AFP learned.

As a reminder, the sporting event will take place in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.

Asked about this during the municipal council last Friday, the mayor of various centers of Rodez, Christian Teyssèdre, said that "there will be no giant screens" on the territory of the municipality.

In the wake of Lille and Strasbourg

“I do not endorse the organization of this competition in this country.

Football is all about money and the city of Rodez won't get involved in that”;

continued the aedile.

The latter thus places himself in the wake of the socialist mayor of Lille (Nord) Martine Aubry and the environmentalist mayor of Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin) Jeanne Barseghian, who recently made the same decision.

Through this boycott, the three city councilors wish to point out the controversial organizational conditions of this planetary competition.
